A Newberry County man was arrested Monday on charges of trafficking of counterfeit goods valued between $10,000 and up to $50,000, a felony punishable by five years in jail or fines up to $20,000, Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott said Thursday.Police found CDs, DVDs, shoes, handbags and clothes valued at $1.3 million in storage facilities in Richland and Newberry counties as well as at a Newberry residence, he said.Larry Mitchell of Newberry is out of jail on bond in the city of Newberry and has made arrangements to turn himself in to the Richland County Sheriff's Department to face charges here, Lott said.-- From staff reports [ Full article ] |
