Jones, who predilection for "makin' it rain" contributed to his 16-game suspension, not only left Tennessee without one of the game's best punt returners, but also created a gaping hole in the secondary. As a consequence, the Titans used their first-round pick on defensive back Michael Griffin. Griffin was a strong safety at the University of Texas and many NFL scouts thought he was the best safety prospect in the draft. The Titans are set at the position -- Chris Hope, signed last off-season, had a great year -- but the club thought enough of Griffin's athleticism that they drafted him to play cornerback. Bottom line: Making the transition from college to the NFL is usually overwhelming, and it's especially tough on defensive backs.
