Overview of Contract book deal: N.Y. Times has the exclusive rights to the cartooning of the character Captain Democracy for syndicated print news. The N.Y. Times also takes a share of 33% of the book sales to be published in twenty-seven languages and distributed in eighty-seven countries. NBC Corporation has the exclusive rights to the Television Cartooning of Captain Democracy, and will pay royalties of thirty-three percent of gross profits to the person known as Captain Democracy and said royalties will be split 50-50 with journalist Dawn Fratangelo. NBC also will share a percent of the book sales at thirteen percent of gross profits before taxes. thirty three percent of the thirteen million dollars shall be payed by both the N.Y.
