Keith Olbermann reported last night on MSNBC that Castignoli has told friends that he also buried an official scorecard from the 2004 ALCS, which (do I really need to explain?) was the fateful series in which the Yankees lost to the Red Sox despite a 3-0 lead. Considered one of the greatest comebacks or choke-jobs (depending on your allegiances) in sporting history, the series allowed the Red Sox to go on to win their first World Series in 84 years.The Yankees went through the trouble of unearthing the jersey (and allowing the Red Sox to auction it off for charity), but it'd be nearly impossible to find a single scorecard in all the tons of concrete that have already been laid [ Full article ] |
